#19: Hualien!

Sup?! I’m currently doing a volunteer work exchange in Hualien, Taiwan and will be staying here for a few more weeks. Even though its typhoon season right now, we still get a solid amount of sun after each storm passes through. Temperatures during the day get pretty hot in the mid 90’s (F) but it cools down enough in the evening where you can walk around without breaking too much of a sweat.

Definitely loving everything about this city since I arrived; you can head to Taroko National Park for a long or short hike, take a bike and cycle through the trails along the coastline by the beach, find natural swimming holes in a gorge, or treat yourself to endless amounts of food along Zhongshan Road and in Dongdamen Night Market ($2-$5 USD for a meal!). This is my first time in Taiwan and I’m looking forward to whatever’s in store next.

PS I’ve been overdosing on dumplings, BUT ALSO I HEARD THIS WAS A “SURFING” TOWN…A BIT DISAPPOINTED I DON’T SEE ANY WAVES FOR ME TO CATCH 😂
